Chyknell is a pleasant early 19th-century house located in a wooded park. It is constructed of stucco and has two storeys, featuring sash windows and a low-pitched slate roof with wide, spreading eaves. The symmetrical entrance facade includes flat pedimented gables on both the right and left sides, along with a central Doric colonnade.
