Description
The garden wall, located approximately 30 metres to the east of Albrighton Hall, dates from the late 17th century and was altered around 1885. It is constructed of red brick with grey sandstone ashlar dressings and has an L-plan design. The wall is approximately 200 metres long, running alongside the road and returning to the west at the north end to connect with Albrighton Hall. It features a chamfered stone plinth and stepped chamfered stone coping. At the south end, there is a square ashlar pier with chamfered rustication, a moulded cornice, and a chamfered cap, though it is missing the globe finial. There is a boarded door in the return to the north with chamfered stone reveals. A gateway was formed or widened to the north around 1885, flanked by square brick gate piers, each with a chamfered stone plinth, a moulded stone cornice, and a globe finial. The wall is included for its group value.
