Description

The Post Office, Shop Cottage, and Nos 4 and 5 on Main Street in Worfield is a simple cottage range dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick, likely over an earlier timber frame, and features one storey plus an attic. The building has three casement windows and three doorways with plank doors. There are five gabled dormers and dentilled eaves, with a tiled roof. Originally, this structure served as a workhouse. It is included in the listing for its group value, as it is part of a collection of buildings that includes St Peter's Church, The Post Office, Shop Cottage, Nos 4 to 7 (consecutive), Crow Cottage, Nos 9 to 12 (consecutive), and The Club House.
