Description
Shipton Hall is a large Elizabethan house built around 1549 by Richard Lutwyche. The building is designed in the shape of a letter 'E' and is approached by a terraced garden forecourt. In the right-hand corner, between the stone gabled wings, there is a slender tower, and the house features tall chimneys made of twisted brickwork. The library and dining room were added in the early 18th century. Inside, you will find beautiful ceilings, oak panelling, and a massive staircase. At the back of the property, there is an old bowling green. Shipton Hall, along with its dovecote, stables, and barn, forms a group of historic structures.
