Description

Lower Hope and the adjoining hop kiln date from the late 18th century. The building is constructed of stone rubble with red brick window dressings and stands three storeys tall. It features two sash windows with glazing bars and a central door. The roof is a new tile hipped design, and there is an end stone stack with a diagonal shaft. To the west, there is a 17th-century timber frame and rubble wing that connects to a red brick round hop kiln topped with a slate conical roof.
