Description

This is a house dating from the second quarter of the 19th century. It is constructed of squared, coursed stone with a slate roof, lead hips, and a lead ridge. The front of the house is three windows wide and one room deep, and it has an 'L' shaped plan. The house is two storeys high. A mid-20th century boarded door is situated in the centre, approached by a single stone step and above which is a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars and stone voussoirs. There are sash windows to each side of the door, each with a stone lintel and a dummy keystone. The first floor also has three equally sized sash windows. The eaves are wide and boarded, with hipped roofs and projecting gable chimneys that have a plain cornice and crenellated tops. The property forms a group with the nearby Old Nailshop.
