Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory, now a house, built in 1788 with alterations and an extension added in 1833. It is constructed of yellow brick with red brick dressings and features a concrete tiled roof with rendered end stacks and brick coped tumbled gables. The building has a two-storey front with a dentillated eaves course and three bays. The central bay contains a six-panelled half-glazed door with a traceried overlight in a Chinese style, which is sheltered by a later 19th-century open porch that also has dentillated eaves and triangular-headed side windows. On either side of the door are single glazing bar sashes with flat red brick heads. Above these, there are three similar, shorter glazing bar sashes. The south gable end displays two steel tie plates shaped like 'I B'. The dating of the building has been confirmed by records at the Lincoln Archives office.
