Description
The New Castle Inn is a public house located on the High Street in Castle Bytham, dating to the 17th century and significantly altered in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a slate roof with two gable stacks, one of red brick and the other of yellow brick. The two-storey, three-bay front features a central 20th-century door, flanked by single canted bays with glazing bar casements and flat roofs. The first floor has three glazing bar sashes with plain ashlar surrounds. The original, steep roof pitch is visible in the gable.
