Description

53 and 54 High Street is a house that has been converted into two shops. It dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features a steeply pitched pantile roof with a single ridge and gable stacks. The eaves are cogged, and the gable is coped with brick. It has two storeys plus attics and consists of two bays.

The front has two early 20th-century wooden shopfronts, each with pilasters and fascia cornices, and includes a single window and door. Above the shopfronts, there are two plain sash windows. At the top, there are two raking dormers, one with a two-light casement and the other with a sliding sash. The interior has not been inspected.
