Description

Gowts Bridge is a road bridge that was replaced in the mid-20th century, although it retains most of the original parapet from the 1813 structure designed by William Hayward. The bridge is constructed of ashlar, with some concrete balusters. It features a single segmental arch with a rusticated soffit and keystone, flanked by single blank panels. The coped parapet has quadrant ends and square piers.
