Description

Eastfields is a cottage that dates from the 17th to the 20th century. It features a timber frame, with some areas constructed from colorwashed red brick and colorwashed render. The roofs are thatched, with some sections clad in corrugated iron and timber, and others covered with pantiles. The south gable is tumbled, and there is a small dormer on the east side that has a 20th-century casement window.

The cottage has two bay wings on the south and east sides, both with brick plinths. The east side includes a pair of 20th-century sliding glazed doors, accompanied by three 20th-century casements of various designs to the right. On the north side, there is a 19th-century sliding sash window to the right and a small fixed light to the left. The west gable end features large, irregularly placed 20th-century casements of different designs. The south side has a sliding sash window, while the west side includes a 20th-century glazed door with a sliding sash to the right.

The south gable has a single-storey lean-to constructed of 18th-century red brick, topped with a pantile roof and fitted with 20th-century windows. Inside, the timber frame remains intact, showcasing beamed ceilings on the ground floor, with the main beam in the sitting room being chamfered. The wall plates, posts, tie beams, and roof timbers are partially exposed on the upper floor.
