Description
The Harborough District Council Offices, located at 42 High Street, is an early 19th-century building featuring a stuccoed street elevation with decorative bands between the floors. The structure rises three storeys and is topped with a hipped slate roof and a parapet that includes three recessed panels. The facade has three windows; the ground floor features a central window with three lights, flanked by round arched doorways on either side, although the southern doorway is now blocked. The northern doorway is adorned with a traceried fanlight and an ornamental six-panelled door. The windows are sash style with glazing bars. A notable feature is the wrought iron balcony with a tented hood that spans the first-floor facade. Inside, there is a well-preserved rear staircase.
