Description
Smith's Wine Tavern is a late 18th century to early 19th century building located on St John's Street. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a double brick eaves cornice and a tiled roof. The tavern stands three storeys high and has two windows that do not have glazing bars. A notable feature is the original double shop front, which includes barred square bay windows supported by carved wooden brackets. The shop has double central doors, with the upper panels now glazed, and the eastern door is framed with an architrave. Smith's Wine Tavern is part of a group that includes No 2 and Nos 6 to 44 (even).
