Description

Victoria Bridge is a bridge over the River Aire, constructed between 1837 and 1839 by George Leather junior. It is made of ashlar stone and features a single wide elliptical arch with rusticated voussoirs. Above the arch, there is a cornice with mutules, and wide pilasters at the abutments extend up to the parapet, which is decorated with an incised Greek motif. A central plaque on the bridge displays a wreath and raised lettering that reads 'VICTORIA'.
