Description

This house, now used as offices, was built between 1810 and 1815 by John and George Bischoff. It is part of Queen Square and represents the second phase of development, comprising nine smaller houses constructed between 1810 and 1815. The building is rendered with a slate roof. It has two storeys and two bays. The right-hand side features a six-panel door with a fanlight, the fanlight's radial glazing bars having been replaced. The windows are 16-pane replacement sash windows with stone sills and wedge lintels. Gutter brackets are present, and a chimney stack is positioned across the ridge to the left. The interior has not been inspected. Historical research indicates that Queen Square’s development began in 1806 with the construction of two houses on the northwest side.
