Description
Royd House Farmhouse, part to the west, is a former single dwelling that has been divided. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is built from deeply coursed, hammer-dressed stone with large chisel-dressed quoins. The stone slate roof features a later gable stack and the building stands two storeys high. There is a near central doorway that has been blocked, with a 3-light stone mullioned window on both the left and right sides on each floor; the mullions are recessed. At the rear, there is an outshut extension of similar date. A 19th-century doorway is located in the rendered west gable. The eastern part of the farmhouse is from the late 19th century and is not included in this listing.
