Description
A row of back-to-back weavers' houses dating to 1790. The buildings are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. They are three storeys and have attics. The south elevation features three dwellings, each with an entrance and a three-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor. The first floor has two single-light stone mullioned windows. The second floor has a continuous eight-light window, with the two centre lights blocked. The north elevation also features three dwellings; the two dwellings to the left have a three-light stone mullioned window with a stepped lintel on the ground floor. The first floor has one six-light and two two-light windows, and the second floor has two eight-light windows, each with the centre two lights blocked. Number 189 has three and four-light stone mullioned windows. A modern porch provides access on the west gable. The east gable has single and two-light windows, mostly blocked. An inscription over the door to Number 183 reads "ERECTED by Joseph Littlewood in the year of our Lord 1790".
