Description

The park gates and gatepiers to Trinity Street, built in 1884, are notable features of Greenhead Park. There are five piers constructed from ashlar and rock-faced stone. Each pier has moulded plinths and foliate cornices, topped with pyramidal caps. The design includes chamfered edges and buttresses on both axes, with batters that terminate in swirls of acanthus.
