Description

The tomb of John Oates is located in the south-east corner of All Saints' Churchyard, dating from 1831. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a hipped top with canted corners and panelled sides. John Oates, who passed away on 16 May 1831 at the age of 37, was the architect responsible for All Saints' Church, St Paul's Church on Ramsden Street, St Stephen's Church on Lidget Street in Lindley, and the Huddersfield Infirmary.
