Description
Bankfield Mill is a mid-19th century building constructed from hammer-dressed stone, featuring a hipped slate roof. It stands three storeys high with a basement. The eaves are adorned with a full entablature and brackets that have guttae. The building has rusticated quoins, with every alternate one being vermiculated. There are eight ranges of sash windows; the ground floor windows are round-arched and set in concave surrounds, featuring alternately rusticated voussoirs, sunk aprons, and a continuous moulded impost band. The first-floor windows have a continuous sill band. The entrance door has six moulded panels and a semi-circular fanlight above. Additionally, there are cast iron railings surrounding the area, which are topped with bulbous and spear finials.
