Description

Nos 6 and 8, Low Gate, are a pair of early to mid-19th century hand-worked stone houses. They are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof and a single stone chimney stack. The west elevation features, on the ground floor, two central doorways and two three-light stone mullioned windows. The first floor has two six-light stone mullioned windows, with a sill band running along the first-floor level. The east elevation presents two blocked entrances on the first floor, along with two two-light stone mullioned windows, featuring one light in each blocked opening.
