Description
The Pavilion in People's Park, built around 1856 by G H Stokes, is a Grade II* listed classical building made of stone and consisting of one storey. It features three arched openings at the front, framed by paired pilasters, with an additional opening on each side. At the rear, there are three arches leading to a large apse that contains a seated figure of Frank Crossley in white marble by J Durham. On either side of the pavilion, there are square pools backed by arcaded screen walls that include mask and shell fountains. This pavilion is part of a group of listed buildings along Park Road.
