Description
The building is a carriage house, stables, and granary dating from the early 19th century, located approximately 30 metres north of The Elms. It is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof. The structure has two storeys and three openings on the first floor. A wide central elliptical brick carriage arch is adorned with an ashlar keystone. To the left, there is a board stable door flanked by two-light casements set under segmental arches. To the right, there is another board door under a segmental arch, with a diamond-shaped breather to the right and a small inserted casement to the left. The first floor has three hatches. The building has stepped eaves and a brick-coped gable that has been tumbled. On the left gable, there is a cusped chamfered ashlar opening, which is likely a re-used fragment of tracery from Thornton Abbey.
