Description
The former stables to Number 39, located on Bargate in Grimsby, date from the late 18th century and have undergone some later alterations. The building is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof.
It is a single-storey structure with an attic. The gable end faces the street and includes a central 20th-century garage door set beneath a timber lintel. Above this, there is an attic hatch with a board door and strap hinges, all under a segmental relieving arch. The left side of the building has a single board door and a horizontal sliding sash window to the left, both of which are situated beneath segmental arches. The building also has a bracketed wooden gutter, a side wall stack on the right, and a roof stack at the rear.
The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with Numbers 39 and 41.
