Description

The Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later extensions and alterations made in the late 18th century and 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and is colour-washed, topped with a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has four bays arranged in a 1:1:2 pattern. The entrance features a four-panel door set in bolection-moulded reveals, flanked by a small 16-pane sash window on the left and two larger similar sashes on the right, all of which have sills. On the first floor, there are four sash windows with glazing bars. The house has a dentilled brick eaves cornice, with end and axial stacks, and the raised coped gables are finished with tumbled-in brick.
