Description
Admiral Storr's Tower, also known as Hilston Mount, is a look-out tower built in 1750 for John Storr. It is constructed of orange brick in Flemish bond, with a header bond used for the stair turret, and features stone dressings. The tower stands three storeys tall and has an octagonal shape, with a semicircular stair turret projecting from the north side. There is a door located beneath a flat gauged brick arch, which is situated below a datestone that displays a coat of arms featuring three birds. All other openings in the tower have been blocked with flat gauged brick arches. The structure is topped with a coped parapet that ramps up to the top of the stair turret.
