Description
Nos 4-6 Prospect Vale are a pair of houses built in the late 19th century. They are constructed from rendered stone and have a slate roof. The houses are designed back-to-back and are two storeys high, featuring end stacks with moulded caps. Both houses have a regular three-window front; No 4 has casement windows, while No 6 has sash windows, though they are otherwise identical. The buildings have cornice and sill bands, and quoining highlighted in black. The windows are set under slightly cambered lintels, with the window to the left of the centre door being larger to accommodate a tripartite sash, which has been replaced in No 4. All openings are framed in slightly raised surrounds, and the end walls have painted string courses. Single back-to-back cottages are rare, and Nos 4-6 form an attractive group with Nos 8-10 and 12-14.
