Description

This is a group of nine telephone kiosks located outside the Head Post Office in Preston. The kiosks are of the K6 type, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, and were made by various contractors. They are constructed from cast iron and painted red. Eight of the kiosks stand in pairs near the south end of the post office, while one is detached at the north end. The kiosks are square with domed roofs, featuring unperforated crowns on the top panels and margin panes on the windows and doors.
