Row of 3 small town houses. c.1830-35, altered (and renovation in progress at No.61). Red brick in 5+1 English garden wall bond (No.60 rebuilt and No.62 painted red), with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Double-depth plan, each house single-fronted, with back extensions, and through-lobbies in the centre between Nos.60 and 61 and to the right at No.62. Two storeys over cellars, each house 2 bays; with a plain frieze and moulded gutter cornice. The doorways, to the left at No.60 (up 2 steps) and coupled at Nos.61 and 62 (up one step), have round-headed architraves with set-in Tuscan quarter columns, plain lintels, and semicircular fanlights with hollow-moulded surrounds; the lobby doorways have plain lintels and board doors. Each house has one window at ground floor and 2 above, all sashed without glazing bars except at ground floor of No.62, and all with raised sills and wedge lintels; cellar windows protected by a grating. Ridge chimneys. Rear and INTERIOR not inspected. The item is part of a formerly complete set of late Georgian lower-middle class town houses in this street.
