Description
The bandstand, located approximately 70 meters southeast of St Annes Pier, was likely built between 1890 and 1914. It features a cast-iron structure with a sandstone base and a felted wooden roof, designed in an octagonal shape. The base consists of an ashlar plinth with rounded coping. The slender cast-iron columns have fluted bases and voluted caps, with the upper sections adorned with ornamental open-work brackets and spandrels that include lyres and scrolls. The prominent oversailing eaves are supported by these brackets. Inside, there is a flat wooden ceiling, and the roof is shallow and polygonal, topped with a wrought-iron crest. This bandstand is part of a group of related structures along the promenade.
