Description
Waterloo Lodge is an early 19th-century house constructed of stone, featuring a hipped slate roof with one chimney on the ridge, one on the left, and two at the right end. The building has a rectangular double-pile plan consisting of three bays, with the first bay being a later addition. It stands two storeys high with a basement and is adorned with a moulded cornice and quoins.
The first bay contains one window on each floor, while the original part of the house is symmetrical. At the centre, there is a rectangular recess with slender Tuscan columns in antis that forms a porch for a round-headed doorway, which includes a fanlight with radiating glazing bars. The ground floor features two windows, and there are three above; all windows are currently boarded but were originally sashed with glazing bars.
The left return wall has a ground floor door and three windows, while the right return wall has one window on each floor. The rear of the house includes a basement door and an exceptionally tall stairlight, along with three tall windows on each floor, which were presumably sashed but are now boarded. The interior has not been seen.
