Description
Number 41 Street is a shop with accommodation, now used for storage. It was probably built in the mid-18th century and has been altered over time. The building features Flemish bond stone-dressed brown brickwork and a grey slate roof that runs at a right angle to the street. The modern shopfront is not of interest. Notable architectural details include a rusticated second-storey floor-band made of painted stone, rusticated quoins on the second and third storeys, and two altered cross-windows on the second storey with painted stone sills and wedge lintels that have false keystones. The third storey has a sill band and two flush 9-pane unequal sashes, topped with a modillion pediment. There is also a brown brick lateral chimney on the west side. The interior has not been inspected.
