Description

Number 30 Street is a shop and former living accommodation, dating to around 1830, and altered subsequently. The front is faced with lined stucco over a brick base, while the rear is of English garden wall bond brown brick. The roof is covered in grey slate, running parallel to the street.

The building is three storeys high. The lower floor features Music Hall Passage, located to the south, which was previously connected to this property (described separately at Number 28). The shopfront has a plain glazed door and window, and fluted pilasters mark the corner and the north end of the shopfront. The second floor has two sash windows, with the lower glazing bars removed from the south window; these have eight panes in the upper leaf. The third floor contains two unequal sashes, each with twelve panes, and a parapet with moulding beneath a stone coping.

The rear elevation, partly hidden from view, has two twelve-pane flush sashes to each upper floor. On the second floor, the lower glazing bars have been removed from the south window, and the north window is blocked. On the third floor, the south window's glazing bars have been removed, while the north window retains its original glazing.

Internally, partition walls have been removed from the second floor, and a twentieth-century staircase has been installed. The third floor has its original floor plan, although no features of particular interest remain.
