Description

This is a row of six cottages located in Pillory Street, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. The cottages are built of red brick and extend over two storeys, featuring twelve restored casement windows. Five doorcases have been restored, each with a shallow pediment and a six-panelled door. Gabled ends and dentilled eaves are present, and the roofs are slate. Number 52 has 19th and 20th century shop fronts with modern glazing. The row underwent extensive restoration in 1972.
