Description
The Railway Station on Railway Street is a Grade II listed building constructed from red sandstone in a classical style. It stands two storeys high, with the centre of the façade emphasized by rusticated pilasters and a clock set into the curved gable above. There are three windows on each side; the ground floor windows feature round arched openings and all windows have moulded architraves. A top cornice supports a cast iron balustrade, while the side wings are topped with pyramid roofs. The low single-storey flanking wings each have a round-headed doorway and two windows, along with a cornice and a panelled parapet.
