Description
The L-shaped stables at Pen-Y-Lan Hall are a Grade II listed structure featuring a long single-storey stabling range and a shorter two-storey gateway range with flanking accommodation. The main elevation faces an internal courtyard and consists of a two-storey brick construction with a slate roof. A central arched carriageway extends the full height of the building and is topped with a pediment and a wooden bell-cupola. Above the carriageway, there is a single arched window in the pediment. To the right, on the ground floor, there is one modern window with a sandstone lintel, alongside a single-storey brick lean-to extension. The windows have been renewed and also feature sandstone lintels. The rear elevation has been altered. On the far left, the single-storey range is made of red brick with a slate roof, and it has a central carriage arch that rises through one and a half storeys, also pedimented, with a large recessed blind arch that has an oval opening at the top and is open at the bottom. The end carriage openings are symmetrical, and the fenestration has been renewed.
