Description
48 Well Street is a tall three-storey building with two windows, built from red brick and topped with a slate roof featuring brick end stacks. The exterior includes a modillion eaves cornice, stone sill bands on the first and second floors, and a stone plinth. The windows on the first and second floors have raised stone surrounds; the first-floor windows have round-arched heads with keystones and contain horned sash windows without glazing bars, while the second floor features rectangular top-hung windows.
On the ground floor, there is a round-arched doorway on the right, surrounded by brick, which contains a four-panel door with a plain-glazed fanlight. To the left, there is a shop front with a half-glazed door beneath a tall overlight on the right, and a plain-glazed shop window on the left. Both are framed by plain pilasters with ringed capitals that support a dentilled cornice.
The east gable end also has two windows and three storeys, with small-pane top-hung windows under segmental brick heads, except for a uPVC window on the upper left. The ground floor features a taller window on the left and a blind window on the right. To the left, there is a modernised house that adjoins the rear at a right angle. The interior has not been seen.
