Description
Bodeugan Farmhouse is a three-storey farmhouse, likely dating to the 17th century, originally built of brick although parts are now rendered. It has gabled dormers and four windows, including a gabled projection with an entrance lobby on the ground floor. The roof is covered with old slate tiles, and features brown brick stacks. The windows are near-flush casements, and the main entrance has a very wide boarded door fitted with wrought iron straps. Photographs taken around 1979 show that much of the rear fenestration has been bricked up. There is a report of an outside bakehouse at right angles to the main house.
Inside, the farmhouse contains stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. A Jacobean staircase features moulded, heavy, turned balusters, boldly moulded close spring, square newels with finials and pendants. One flight of the staircase has shaped flat balusters. Wide-boarded doors are fitted with straps. A massive central chimney stack with large openings that have been filled in is a notable feature.
