Description
Blairlogie Park is a house built in the later 19th century, featuring later additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a rectangular plan and a rear wing, likely a former stable block, creating an overall L-shape. There is also a small single-storey addition to the east. The design is symmetrical, with original lying-pane glazing. The principal (south) elevation is constructed of coursed stugged sandstone, while less finely coursed sandstone and coursed rubble are used elsewhere, with the rear of the main block being harled. The building has ashlar dressings and architraved openings on the main block, along with coped gables.
On the south elevation, there is a central block with a pedimented entrance, featuring a two-leaf panelled timber door and a rectangular fanlight above. Flanking windows are present on each floor and above the entrance. The eaves cornice is plain, with vertical margins at the arrises. To the outer right, there is a small, harled, single-storey lean-to addition with a low-pitched roof.
The west elevation shows the gable end of the main block to the outer right, with a window to the left on each floor. The former stable block projects to the left, with altered or inserted openings on the ground floor, including a late 20th-century conservatory to the right, and two windows on the first floor. There is also a window to each floor on the right return.
On the north elevation, there is a central window on the first floor of the main block and a small window to the left. An entrance with a window to the right leads to the single-storey addition on the outer left. The former stable block adjoins the main block at a right angle on the right, featuring inserted openings and a lean-to addition on the ground floor, along with a pair of windows on the first floor.
The original sections mainly have 12-pane lying-pane timber sash and case windows, with grey slate roofs. The roof of the former stable block is piended, and there are corniced gablehead stacks on either side of the main block, along with a coped stack on the former stable block, featuring round and octagonal cans.
Inside, the interior is largely intact, including the door furniture. The inner doors at the principal entrance retain good stained glass leaded panels dating from around 1900. There is a moulded cast-iron balustrade on the staircase.
The property is enclosed by a rubble boundary wall, which has some rounded coping. The original cast-iron gate, featuring fleur-de-lys finials, is located on the south side.
