Description

This drinking fountain and lamp-post, located on Barnton Street in Stirling, was built in 1887. It is made of polished pink granite and features a polygonal plinth with a quatrefoil base. Small, stylised columns are positioned at each corner, and there are segmental-arched inscription panels above. Each face of the fountain has a lion's head from which water flows, situated between the columns. Above, a single Corinthian column supports a cast-iron lamp with three branches, adorned with flowers and foliage on the lamp stand.
