Description

Lochend is an early to mid-19th century single-storey farm steading that forms a spacious square. The farmhouse is located at the center of the south side and projects forward on the outer south elevation. It features an unfortunate box dormer on the south side, with glazing that has been altered to the courtyard and two modern rooflights. The service, byre, and storage ranges are linked to the house and extend around the courtyard. To the east, there is a substantial horsemill that lacks machinery but still retains its roof structure, which is connected to a granary that has a gablet at the south end with a raised loft entrance. The entire structure is built of rubble, with the domestic range painted.
