Description

The Crystal Well and Mule Gang, dating from the early 19th century, features a round-arched grotto made with rusticated voussoirs and a carved bearded head at the keystone. Water springs from a pointed-arched recess into a gadrooned stone basin, which is set behind broken cast-iron railings topped with fleur-de-lys. Above, there are stone arches that still show remnants of a hydraulic ram, and behind this structure is a circular gin house, along with fragments of cast-iron railings.
