Description

The Railway Viaduct over the River Gryfe in Bridge of Weir was opened in 1869 by the Greenock and Ayrshire Railway. It features five arches, three of which are dry, spanning the river, along with a single plate-girder approach span to the south over the A761. The viaduct is constructed from coursed bull-faced red ashlar and includes channelled voussoirs, pilaster strips, and a band course located below the parapet.
