Description
The Old Parish Church in Kilbarchan is a simple round-arched style building constructed from rubble, with some areas harled. It features crowstepped gables and a stone belfry on the gable. The tower has a wallhead balustrade and a short slated spire, with these details dating from the 19th century. The doorway is dated "1724" and was crafted by James Baird, a master mason from Govan associated with the Low Church in Paisley. The north and south transepts may date back to around 1690. There is a forestair located in the southeast re-entrant angle. Surrounding the churchyard is a rubble wall with railings, and there are cylindrical gate-piers on the east side.
