Description
17 Lady Lane in Paisley is a four-storey, 15-bay tenement designed by architect Peter Caldwell in 1891. The building is constructed of ashlar and features end pilaster strips. There are four pilastered close entries topped with scrolled pediments. The central entry has an elliptically-arched pend with a rusticated surround and a scrolled pediment. A string course connects the pediments, and there is a cill band above the first-floor windows. Most windows are bipartite, except for the single sashes located beside the close entries. The first and second-floor windows are architraved, pilastered, and corniced, while the second-floor windows have a cartouche and frond above the close entries. The third-floor windows feature moulded aprons, and the building has an eaves cornice and blocking course. The wallhead stacks are bold, panelled, and pedimented.
