Description
This is a parish church built in 1881 by G T Ewing of Crieff, located on Burrell Street in Comrie. The church is designed in the French Gothic style. It is constructed from dark, locally sourced snecked rubble, with regular patterning and contrasting free stone dressings. The main rectangular body of the church is oriented northwest to southeast, with a front gable facing northwest, and a northeast tower topped with a spire. The front gable features a two-tiered arched doorway, above which is a six-light window with delicate tracery, flanked by four bays of tall arcading, culminating in a diapered apex. A tall, buttressed tower rises to a well-proportioned stone spire, accentuated with pinnacles and lucarnes. The tower includes two-light belfry openings and a clock face. The sides of the church have two-light windows. The roof is slate-covered. A pair of ornamental cast-iron lamp standards mark the approach to the church. It remains in ecclesiastical use.
