Description
2 Newmiln Cottages is a terrace of four single-storey cottages, likely built between 1820 and 1840. These cottages are set back from the main road and feature a central door with three bays. The construction is of roughly squared rubble with ashlar lintels. Some openings have been blocked, and there is evidence of larger openings that have been closed off at the northern end cottage, which was presumably the former smithy. The third cottage from the left has a blocked door and likely forms part of the neighbouring house or houses. Each cottage has three doors and almost square windows positioned close under the eaves, featuring a four-pane glazing pattern with painted margins. The roof is piended and covered with grey slates, topped with three brick ridge stacks.
