Description

The Harbour in Avoch was designed by Thomas Telford and built between 1813 and 1815. It features a basin that is enclosed by an L-shaped pier and a straight pier made of large stone blocks laid vertically, with wooden-piled faces on the jamb of the L. An extension was added in 1904 by James Fraser, a civil engineer from Inverness, which includes a concrete C-shaped pier that partly covers the original structure.
