9 Clairmont Gardens, Glasgow

12 Clairmont Gardens in Glasgow is a classical terrace block built in 1857, featuring three stories and a basement with three bays. The building is constructed from polished ashlar stone, with a channelled finish at the ground floor. All windows are sash and set within architraves, primarily consisting of four panes. Each entrance is located at the top of steps that overlook a basement area; the entries for Nos 2-11 are tripartite with console cornices and sidelights, while Nos 12 and 13 have only console corniced entries. The ground floor has a plain entablature, and the first floor features a moulded cill band with alternating dentil corniced oriel windows, along with sculpted corbelling and console corniced single-light windows above the entrances. The third floor windows are set on a corbelled moulded cill band. The building has a plain eaves entablature with a dentil cornice and acroters, topped by a piended slate roof and corniced axial stacks.

On the elevation facing Clifton Street, there is a canted ground floor oriel in the southernmost bay, with tripartite bays above. The first-floor windows are console corniced on a cill band, and the second floor has a moulded cill band, along with a reduced wallhead stack.

Inside, the building features cast-iron balusters and corniced, cored lightwells. The property is also bordered by cast-iron railings on pierced parapet walls with corniced piers.
