Description
3 Doune Quadrant in Glasgow is a four-storey tenement building with a basement, constructed around 1875. It features a five-bay range built on a curve, made of yellow sandstone ashlar. The design includes outer full-height canted windows, two inner bipartite windows, and a door with a single window to the right. Above the door, there are bipartite windows. A band course runs at the level of the bracketed door cornice, with cill courses on the first, second, and third floors, and a simple eaves cornice. The first-floor inner windows have console-bracketed cornices, while the second-floor inner windows are adorned with Thomsonesque three-quarter submerged pilasters, bold lintels, and cornices above. There is a cornice between each storey of the canted bay. The building features sash and case windows with plate glass glazing and is topped with a slate roof.
